Provincial notes:
- First issue
In March 1942, the Misamis Occidental Currency was formed. Consisting of Filomena D. Pacana as Chairman, Ireneo Barbasa and Ramon O. Nolasco as members, it was authorized to issue up to 2/3 of the unencumbered bank deposits of the province. This authorization totaled over a million Pesos, but only around 75,000 Pesos were issued before they ran out of paper. Printing was done by Rozito Z. Baccaro at Mutagas, Jiminez.
- Second issue
Wendell W. Fertig ordered the Misamis Occidental Currency Committee to resume printing currency on December 8th, 1942. The signatures, border cuts, seal, and portrait of President Quezon were all cut from wood blocks, while the remainder of items on the notes were made using metal type. Rozito Z. Baccaro printers were used for this issue as well. The printing consisted of the remaining amount from what was authorized, and printing was completed in mid-January of 1943.
Of the 945,000 Pesos printed, all of it was placed into circulation except 3,000 50 centavos notes and 3,500 5 Pesos notes which were destroyed in a Japanese bombing attack on December 26th, 1942.
2 Pesos and 5 Pesos notes have several contemporary counterfeits that circulated, but these were easily identified by their crude serial numbers.
